INDIAN ART

As you've probably seen if you're following me on Twitter or Facebook, I've been looking for a list of things for my upcomming photoshoot with Erik By Erik.
It's important for me to get it right so that you can understand and truly see who I am... I'm done with apologizing and commercializing myself trying to fit in!!! I want 2 be my true self and create art, and so I shall :)
A while ago a man named Mario Fuchs wrote me and said he knew just the guy who could help me out with what I was looking for. He linked me to a kindhearted man, who's name is Kjell Nordin!
He's been living within the native american culture for 30 years and was happy 2 share his knowledge and experiances with me.
He had the things I was looking for, but unfortunatley, at the moment, he and his wife are in Dennmark. But he did'nt hesitate to point me in the right direction. He gave me a number and a name... And that's where the story begins and new possibillities are born...

This extrodinary man I have met with is Mr. Kent Nyström. His longtime fascination of Native Americans and their history has led him 2 create his company Indianart & Artifacts. And the success he's had is amazing! He's done everything from films, suppling museums, artists, covers, etc, etc, etc...
He's basically done it all and the demand is huge!!!
But he doesn't just sit, looking thru books and pictures trying to copy. He's a true artist at heart, bringing together knowledge, history, art and imagination in every piece that he creates. And not only is he craaazy talented, but also extremly humble and sweet. In fact his whole family are! My fiancee and I toke a little trip out to see Kent and his family and they simple welcomed us with open arms.
That kind of genuine friendliness is hard to come by these days and I find it very inspirational and refreshing :)
After laughter and long talks of life, art, history and politics Kent lead us upstairs... To say that the top floor was a top notch museum and art factory would be an understatement.
It was amaaaazing... I felt like a kid in a candy store. But most of all, I finally felt like I was finally home. I took some pictures for you to share the experiance with me... But I must say that the pictures doesn't do his art justice. And there was so many beautiful things that I couldn't photograph everything.
But at least you'll get a sneak peak for the upcomming photoshoot :) Stay tuned for the "Fitting Photos" as well ;)

BIOGRAPHY

Cherie Hampton was born a cold November night, like a gift from the stars, making the world just a Little bit brighter with her musical laughter, golden complexion and bright green eyes. She grew up in a very multicultural environment, acknowledging her roots, being African American, caucation Swedish wiking, Irish and native American, always traveling back and fourth between the US an Sweden.

Cherie was touched by magic of music at a very young age. As a little girl like mother would sit by the open window, wind blowing in her long blond hair, with her guitar and sing her to sleep. Her father and artist Dj and lyricist, would drag her around from one music store to an other, bobbing his head to the latest hits, bouncing his born to be a star, attached to his hip, to the beat. It was clear early on, that she was exhibonist and quickly learned the art of “Bizzaz” and charm. She would and still does, spellbind everyone and anyone with her free spirit, unique voice and dance. As little girl she would mimic the movements and sing along with artist such as Madonna, Cyndi lauper, Janet & Michael Jackson, doing what she was meant to do … Entertain! Her mother quickly put her in dance school to preserve and canalize all that energy. Ballet, contemporary, jazz help her build a strong foundation. In her teens she left on her on to live in Stockholm to attended the honorable ballet academy to further her dance studies, but she always returned to her first love. Hip hop…

Today Cherie is one of Sweden’s respected, most sought after dancer and choreographer, working with high profiled artists, TV-productions, video’s, fashion shows and musicals. She travels trough Europe and the ÚS performing and teaching, sharing her talents inspiring other young dancers and artists. She’s also the co-founder of the house of Ragdollz, as well as the creative director, stylist, make-up artist, in-house choreographer and member of Ragdollz dance company.

She truly is a super woman of her time. There isn’t a challenge she won’t take on, and she does it with such grace and ease it would make the best of us green with envy… Like she say’s “if u want something, you are the only one who can get it for you, if you go around expecting someone else to do it, you might just end up waiting forever… beside’s I’m a pressure player, I would never back awat from a challenge!”

You could ask anyone who’s been fortunate to cross path’s with Cherie Hampton, and they would tell you, that she is unforgettable, possessing that undeniable sumthin’ , sumthin’, always leaving an imprint one way or the other in their lives. She’s a true fashonista in every way, leaving boys, girls, men and women fascinated with her unique appearance and style. “I‘ve always had this crazy fascination for clothes and styling! It‘s an art form and for me it‘s a way for me to express myself. So what if look different and stand out, I really don’t mind… it’s who I am, how boring and less colorful life would be without people who give diversity to this world. If anything, we inspire and give people something to talk about.” Vocally cherie was a late bloomer. Being the tomboy she was, always hanging with the boys and their love for hip hop, naturally pushed her into rapping, but it wasn’t long before she started to turn her poetry into lyrical melodies.she ended up co-writing with her father, soon she was in the studio writing and recording demo’s for other artist’s in high profiled recording studio’s such as.

Quad Studio’s, Daddy’s House and Brown Sugah Studios in N.Y.C. Her unique voice and writing skills quickly set her apart from other female artist’s. In a short time she’s worked with music industry people sush as Black Eyed Peas(US), Hannon Lane(US), Assim The Dream from Bad Boy(US), Jack Knight(US), Adam Blackstone(US), Jason penelli(US) Jones(SWE), LB(US), Curtis Richardson(US), Cut Father n’Joe(DK), Maximum Risk(DK), Ishi(SWE), Collen n’webb (SWE), kaneisha Pratt (US), Jason Gill (SWE), Afreex (GBR), Scoobrock (SWE), Scott Jacoby (US), Shy (SWE), Hood Production’s (GER) and many more. Although she is unsigned and has not yet had a placement, the worls is “It‘s just a matter of time!”. It’s been said, time and time again, that she has this way of fusing diversity and all cultural and artistic sides of her into one. There’s a quickness, truth and honesty about her lyrics and presences that make you want to listen to what she has to say, and her voice, the way she uses it is an outcome of being exposed to so many different cultures of life and music. she has a simple clarity to her voice and yet this untamed edge to it, emerging hiphop, RnB and pop all at once.
